Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first single was released on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music online in 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. The following year, her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she performed alongside Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole on The Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
